What is IGIV?

Intravenous Immunoglobulin is a solution of highly purified immunoglobulin-G derived from large pools of human plasma. Ig-G is the most abundant class of gammaglobulins found in plasma. This solution contain antibodies against a broad spectrum of bacterial and viral agents and is infused intravenously to patients to treat a variety of disorders, including immunodeficiencies, auto-immune neuromuscular disorders and certain rheumatologic conditions.
